Sales Engineer Trainee – Hudson, OH Full Time

Responsibilities of the Sales Engineer Trainee include, but are not limited to:

  • Site visits with sales team to learn how to apply our products in customer applications
  • Site visits with service technicians to understand service products and capabilities of our team
  • Hands-on learning in the shop to learn our in house capabilities
  • Work with Sales/Service teams on energy audits
  • Product training direct from the manufacturer
  • Proposal generation to support the outside sales team
  • Application of product utilizing software tools available
  • Work with Sales & Marketing coordinator to generate new opportunities
  • Participate in Sales meetings and present to sales team on products and services
  • Training on how to sell technical equipment and the sales process

Qualifications of the Sales Engineer Trainee include, but are not limited to:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or technical major with a strong proven ability to grasp and work with technical products and sales
  • Degree may be substituted with 5 years of related experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to solve problems in a constructive and positive manner. Proven ability to build and maintain high quality, long term and professional business relationships with clients, customers, suppliers and other employees/team members. Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong goal orientation and desire to pursue a career working with customers as a technical sales consultant
  • Experience and successful utilization of PC and corresponding software applications (MS Office, CRM, business enterprise software, AutoCAD, etc)

Additional Information:

Physical Demand: May require occasional lifting of 60 lbs. or more and occasional exposure to dusty, damp, and noisy environments. Ability to stand for long periods of time and work within a manufacturing setting

Working Conditions: Office and manufacturing environment

Training/Certifications: The Sales Engineer Development Program is a 12-18 month program designed to prepare participants for a career as a Sales Engineer. As a participant, you will complete training geared toward building your skills and knowledge as a Sales Engineer and developing your ability to consult, problem-solve and design solutions for a wide variety of industrial and process customers. Sales Engineers specialize in facilitating the sales process of technologically advanced products. The role of a Sales Engineer is in a B2B setting, where they are tasked with selling complex products to other businesses

Shift Time/Overtime: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Travel: Sales assignment will be in the Northeast or Central Ohio region and Sales Engineers are expected to live in their sales territory assigned geography

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or technical major preferred but not required. Degree may be substituted with 5 years of related experience
