Turn unplanned failures into planned, budgeted visits

Preventative maintenance also called planned or scheduled maintenance is a recurring program of inspections, lubrication, parts replacement and performance testing carried out on a set interval, before equipment fails.

For more than 57 years, APO Pumps & Compressors has kept compressed air and pumping systems running for manufacturers, processors, municipalities and water/wastewater facilities across Ohio. A maintenance agreement replaces emergency repairs and lost production with predictable, scheduled service.

One program covers all your rotating equipment

Most service companies cover only compressors or only pumps. APO maintains your entire air and fluid-handling infrastructure under a single agreement fewer vendors, one schedule, one point of contact.

  • Air Compressor Maintenance

Rotary screw, reciprocating and oil-free units. Filters, separators, oil analysis, belts, valves and performance checks.

  • Industrial Pump Maintenance

Vertical turbine, end suction, split case, submersible and diaphragm pumps. Seals, bearings, alignment and vibration checks.

  • Air Dryers & Filtration

Refrigerated and desiccant dryers, filters and condensate drains kept clean, dry and within spec for quality air.

  • Vacuum & Blower Service

Scheduled service on vacuum pumps and blower packages to protect uptime across your process lines.

  • Process & Water Filtration

Strainers, cartridge and bag filters, separators and treatment systems inspected and serviced on interval.

  • Pressure Controls

Controls and instrumentation verified so your system holds pressure and runs efficiently between visits.

The case for a preventative maintenance agreement

Planned service protects uptime, budget and equipment life.

  • 1

    Less unplanned downtime

Equipment breakdowns are the largest source of lost production for most plants. Scheduled service finds worn belts, filters and valves before they stop your line.

  • 2

    Fewer emergency repairs

Catching issues on a planned visit avoids the premium cost of after-hours emergency calls and rush parts that were never in the budget.

  • 3

    Lower energy costs

A clean, properly tuned system uses less electricity. On compressed air, energy is by far the biggest lifetime expense — small efficiency gains add up fast.

  • 4

    Longer equipment life

Routine lubrication, alignment and timely parts replacement protect your capital investment and push back the cost of replacement.

  • 5

    Predictable budgeting

A fixed-interval agreement turns surprise repair bills into a planned line item you can forecast year over year.

  • 6

    Safety & compliance

Documented, professional service helps you stay aligned with OSHA and EPA expectations and keeps a clean maintenance record for every asset.

76%

Across the life of a compressed air system, roughly 12% of cost is the initial purchase, 12% is maintenance, and about 76% is the electricity to run it. Preventative maintenance is the lever that controls that 76%.

Preventative maintenance FAQs

Is there a difference between “preventative” and “preventive” maintenance?

No both terms describe the same thing: maintaining equipment on a planned schedule to prevent failures before they happen. “Preventive maintenance” and “preventative maintenance” are used interchangeably across the industry, along with “planned” or “scheduled” maintenance.

How often should my equipment be serviced?

It depends on run hours, duty cycle and environment. Continuous, heavily loaded equipment often needs more frequent attention than units that run intermittently. APO sets intervals based on your actual usage and the manufacturer's recommendations, then schedules around your production hours.

Do you service all brands and equipment types?

Yes. APO services all makes, models, sizes and types of air compressors, industrial pumps, dryers, vacuum and blower systems not just the brands we sell.

Do you offer extended warranty or full-coverage plans?

Yes. APO offers no-fee extended warranty programs (Planned Care and Planned Care Premium) and full bumper-to-bumper coverage plans (Package Care and Package Care Premium) that cover 100% of planned maintenance, breakdown and repair costs for all major compressor brands. The AIREND 10 program adds up to 10 years of airend warranty on qualifying units.

Can maintenance be done on-site, or do I have to ship equipment in?

Both. We perform scheduled maintenance on-site at your facility and also handle service, rebuilds and upgrades in our shop when that's the better option for your equipment.

What does a preventative maintenance program cost?

Pricing is based on the equipment in your program, the service intervals and the level of coverage you choose. After a brief site visit to gather details, we provide a fixed quote so you can budget with confidence. Call (330) 650-1330 or request a quote to get started.
